Vault 13

Return to Fallout 2

In the original Fallout game, Vault 13 was the home of the Vault Dweller. It was eventually abandoned, and clever Deathclaws took over. When you open the vault door and come face to face with a Deathclaw, don’t be alarmed! They’d love to have a conversation with you. There are three tasks here, one of which is to locate the G.E.C.K. gadget, which you’ve been looking for throughout the game.

1) Find the GECK for Arroyo.

Your quest has finally come to a conclusion. Speak with Gruthar and choose between assisting the deathclaws or killing him and his comrades. Gruthar will let you to stroll about the vault if you promise to aid them. Take the G.E.C.K from the locker on the left in the storage area on Level 3.

You may also repair the computer by completing the mission below and returning to Gruthar, who will give you the G.E.C.K. You’ll get 4000 XP regardless of how you complete it.

2) Repair the computer in Vault 13

If you agree to assist Gruthar, he will inform you that the main computer no longer accepts voice orders. To repair the computer, you’ll need a Vault-Tec Voice Recognition Module. One may be found in the storage in Vault 8 in Vault City, or purchased for $3000 from Eldridge in New Reno.

Make your way down to Level 3 and into the Overseer’s area to utilize the terminal. Return to Gruthar after installing the module to complete the quest.

Vault 15 is back, and San Francisco is up next.
